Though spring comes around September in Australia, here is a look at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens in 1903. 1903, Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland, Australia. Richard Godfrey Rivers, Under the Jacaranda, ca. There are two women dressed in lehengas filling their baskets with flowers. This painting is in a traditional miniature format that belongs to a larger manuscript and is possibly from the early 18th-century royal Bilaspur court in Northern India.Īs we can see, the painting depicts a burgeoning springtime landscape with abundant flowers all around. Spring or vasant has long been revered as a time of love, music, and celebration in Hindu mythology, and is particularly associated with the Hindu God Krishna. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY, USA. Vasanti Ragini, Page from a Ragamala Series ( Garland of Musical Modes), ca. This spring landscape painting depicts the rural Scandinavian countryside in the month of May with the vivid lilacs in full bloom. Mutual Art.īorn after the end of the Danish Golden Age, Peder Mork Mønsted was a celebrated Danish painter who gained much acclaim for his serene and poetic plein-air (open-air) paintings of the Danish and Scandinavian landscape and coastlines. Peder Mork Mønsted, Springtime Lilacs, 1912, private collection. This painting by Yoshida, however, depicts traditional Japanese subjects and focuses on possibly the most beautiful aspects of spring in Japan – the Sakura trees. Yoshida traveled all over the world and created several woodblock-style renderings of non-Japanese subjects. He was one of the greatest artists of the shin-hanga style and renowned for his landscape prints. Hiroshi Yoshida was an accomplished Japanese painter and woodblock-style printmaker from the 20th century. 1920, Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, Spain. This spring landscape painting is one of the many views of the gardens of his home in Madrid, which is now the Sorolla Museum. Though his works show the unmistakable influence of Impressionists, Sorolla considered himself stylistically similar to John Singer Sargent and Anders Zorn. Sorolla was known for his luminous compositions and radiant color palette. Google Arts & Culture.Ĭlaude Monet has rightly described Joaquín Sorolla as the “Master of Light”. Joaquín Sorolla, The Gardens at the Sorolla Family House, ca. This painting shows a view of the large courtyard of the Mehoffer home in the full bloom of spring. The Mehoffer House has been open to the public since 1996 as a museum branch dedicated to the artist. The house has a charming, old-fashioned look and was elegantly furnished by the artist himself.Īfter his death, the family dedicated the Mehoffer house to the State Treasury, and it was eventually transferred to the National Museum in Krakow. Józef Mehoffer was one of the most revered Polish artists of his time, and his house in Jankowka near Kraków is an important part of his legacy. Józef Mehoffer, Manor House and Garden in Jankowka, ca. It blooms abundantly in spring in central and southern Texas. He is known for his breathtaking renderings of the Texan landscape scattered with bluebonnets, such as this one.īluebonnets are the official state flower of Texas known for their rich color and the resemblance of their petal to a woman’s bonnet. This beautiful spring landscape painting is by Julian Onderdonk, an Impressionist painter from Texas who has been called the father of Texas painting. 1919, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX, USA. Julian Onderdonk, Early Spring-Bluebonnets and Mesquite, ca. Let’s take a journey all over the world through the eyes of these artists. The melting away of the cold winter and burgeoning of new life in every corner hints at new beginnings and a fresh start. Spring has inspired artists from all over the world for generations.

The chip can auto-configure its PCIe connections to fit the situation, so this full range of connectivity options can be exposed on a single motherboard with the proper electrical connections and slot configuration. Those 32 lanes can be bifurcated into as many as four PCIe x8 connections, with several other configurations possible, including dual x16 connections and a single x16 plus dual x8s. In fact, the Hydra can support up to 48 lanes of PCIe 2.0 connectivity, with 16 “upstream” lanes to the host north bridge or CPU and 32 lanes intended for graphics cards. Most notably, perhaps, the first Hydra silicon demoed supported only the PCIe Gen1 standard, whereas today’s Hydra 200 series is PCIe Gen2-compliant. Several things have changed over the past year, as the Hydra has moved from a technology demo toward a real product with proper driver software. The Hydra then combines the results into a single, hopefully coherent image, which is then sent to the display. The Hydra accomplishes this task by intercepting calls from a graphics API like DirectX, dynamically dividing up the workload, and then assigning a portion of the work required to draw each frame to each GPU. The basic concept is that the Hydra chip can sit on a motherboard, between the north bridge (or CPU) and the PCI Express graphics slots, and provide real-time load-balancing between two or more GPUs. If you’re unfamiliar with the Hydra, I suggest you read our original coverage of the chip, which introduces the basics pretty well. We came away with our impressions of the Hydra solution in action, along with some of the first performance numbers to be released to the public. To underscore that point, the firm recently invited us to its San Jose, California offices to experience a Hyrda-based solution first-hand. Now, a little more than a year after that first IDF showing, Lucid says its Hydra 200 chip is ready to ship in consumer systems. Could this small start-up firm really create a GPU load-balancing chip that would function as smoothly as SLI and CrossFire, yet allow more leeway in mixing GPUs of different types? They’d taken on a daunting challenge, but they seemed to have a pretty good start on the problem. It has SGS and IWAI certifications.Ever since its auspicious debut as a technology demo at last year’s fall IDF, Lucid’s Hydra chip has been an object of curiosity for us.PELLUCID is the lead of ARTechTM (Age Reversal Technology), anti-ageing technology which has been developed for 50 years.Things you need to know before purchasing Pellucid eye spray: Pellucid works well for floaters, cataracts, blurred vision, and glaucoma!ĭespite your occupation, age or eye problems, you need to have at least a bottle of Pellucid with you. Those who always work overtime, stay up late to watch dramas, have dark circles, and those with eye bags need Pellucid to prevent the eyes from ageing fast.People who work as e-commerce, live broadcast celebrities will hardly stay away from their phones, especially during peak seasons or when order hits. Solve most of the chronic eye problems By default, Parallels Desktop provides something they call a “Shared Profile”, which shares the user's home folder with Windows. When it comes to sharing, virtual machines are a relief because they make possible what is impossible via Boot Camp: sharing folders and files between systems. Simply put, Parallels Desktop won’t put too much strain on modern hardware. Data transfer times are just as snappy, too, for example a 4.7 GB file from macOS to Windows 10 and vice-versa took only 30 seconds to copy over via USB-C. Meanwhile, directly clicking on a Windows-only file on the Mac system will speed up boot time to just 20 seconds, while it takes only 10 seconds if Parallels was already open. We tested the program on a MacBook Pro (late 2016) and the boot times of Parallels for Mac performed quite well, taking only 27 seconds to launch both Parallels and Windows 10. Virtual machines can be configured so that they start automatically alongside macOS or whenever Parallels Desktop is launched. Windows 10 under Parallels also supports the macOS function Quick Look, which is very helpful indeed. Travel Mode, for example, will prolong battery life unless you start playing games on the Windows platform, the latter of which is possible thanks to in-built DirectX support. Launching Parallels Desktop will have a noticeable impact on the Mac's performance since it is sharing the computer’s limited resources with a whole other operating system at the same time, however the developers have done a terrific job of optimizing the software's performance to lower the energy and resource impact that it has on the system. It’s very convenient to be able to get started using Windows 10 without an install disk or to transfer apps and files from an older PC using the Parallels Transfer app. But the main reason regular users might install Parallels or its competitors is for standard Windows. Parallels Desktop provides a variety of free systems, covering the likes of a Windows 10 Development environment, a Modern IE environment, a handful of Linux operating systems (with the key ones being Ubuntu, Fedora, and Debian/GNU), Android and even macOS 10.13.4 from the Recovery Partition. Using a virtual machine allows the whole disk formatting step to be skipped and instead proceed with directly installing the desired operating system. It does so by delivering virtual desktops and applications to any device, running Windows on a Mac, Mac management with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), remote access to PC and Mac computers from any device, as well as simplifying common computing tasks on both PC and Mac computers. The company behind Parallels Desktop is Washington-based Parallels Inc., creators of cross-platform software enabling businesses and individuals to use their favorite devices and technology on any number of platforms, covering everything from Windows, Mac and mobile to Linux, Raspberry Pi or the cloud. In addition to the 14-day trial, a Parallels purchase is protected by the company’s 30-day money-back guarantee. All that for as low as $6.66 per month, which includes a handy toolset and remote access to the computer desktop. Alongside eliminating the need to reboot into the desired operating system, it's also speedy enough to launch, suspend, and resume Windows and its apps without ever interfering with your activities. If your time is shared almost equally between macOS and Windows, then Parallels Desktop 13 is a welcome addition to your workflow. I can’t say I’d like to see more chest-beating dinosaur figures like these and even as a young’un it was quite obvious that this figure was merely a cliched representation of a pop-cultural icon. Each Monster in my Pocket had a value of points from 5 to 25 and the T.rex was one of the most powerful of all monsters, naturally. He (or she?) has a small raised boss on its rump, with the number 25 engraved upon it. The flattened face and stubby tail make the figure look almost humanoid. The squishy rubber figure has some nice details, some fleshy lips and a covering of course scales. Impressively the model balances perfectly on two feet, striding purposefully forward, perhaps looking for a Triceratops to beat up. There is one notable accuracy, the number of digits is spot on as each foot has just two little claws…no, wait a minute. It looks almost nothing like a Tyrannosaurus, but I won’t waste my time going into the reasons why, as I could be here for hours. rex with its well-defined ‘pecs’ and clenched fists is…monstrous, fittingly enough. Instead, I’ll cast my eyes briefly over the only dinosaur in the original set – the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex! A repulsive line of MIMP dinosaurs was eventually released, but even that didn’t impress – I’ll spare you from such horrors here. After the first couple of series the lines started to go downhill though and I eventually lost interest. As a kid I was fascinated by the original Monster in my Pocket and managed to collect them all. I thought I’d review something a little different for a change. The EQUINOX 800 adds the ability to change non-ferrous tones and volumes, which can be useful for those who hunt strictly by ear. People who regularly detect gold nuggets will probably want the EQUINOX 800. More importantly, the Multi-IQ is as good at both Park 2 and Field 2, that these profiles are as good if not better at finding gold nuggets than many dedicated single frequency gold detectors. The Gold Mode will be of interest to gold seekers but has fewer applications for other uses. It does this primarily by using different audio processing to targets respond to them both in volume and tone. The EQUINOX 800 Gold mode is designed to improve yield on small gold nuggets in mineralized soils. With additional Gold Mode functionality, High Frequency 20/40 kHz, wireless audio accessories and advanced configurations, the EQUINOX 800 offers additional versatility. Adaptable to all types of terrain targets and terrain conditions, the Equinox 800 is a true metal detector. If you have the same coil, then write your review on it in the comments.Description Minelab Equinox 800 Waterproof Metal Detector It may well be on trashy places that old coins will be at a depth of 25-30 cm, such a coil will take targets at this depth, which means that we do not set the iron indicator above 3 – there will be gaps of good objects.Īnd with that being said I wish you all good luck and great weather! As for the iron indicator, the high level of this setting throws deep and good targets in the iron segment, this was seen on tests at the test site. The rest can be left as the base program. Park 1 mode, sens 20-22, ground-balance (where possible), volume based on the situation, tonality – polyphony, no discrimination or notching – listen to all signals, recovery speed 5-6 and iron indicator 0-3, or what fits you the best. I detect in trashy areas with the following settings: Interestingly, it also lay on the surface.ĭo not be surprised that in such places, the amount of rubbish will go off the scale – the trash must be sifted through and sorted out, it gives good finds, and can even give more than what a month of regular detecting in the fields can do! My settings for trashy areas on the Minelab Equinox 800 And even in those places, there were fights during WW2 (about 400 meters away there were parachutists in 1944), but the buckle is post-war in its design and type. In the same place, not far away, a post-war buckle from the Soviet Army was found. The place was an old road that was no longer used, it was abandoned about 70 years ago, and then it was overgrown and it partly disappeared. For example, this coin was higher up, a Kopeck from 1841, I found it at the depth of…one centimeter! Yes, I just took off the top layer of soil and the find appeared. Now, regarding the finds – do not be surprised that the finds in a trashy area can lie at different depths. Although a couple of additional coil models would not hurt for the Equinox! □ Since none of the other coil manufacturers have yet released their Equinox models, we have to take the original coils, which work very well. It is these kinds of sniper coils that work best in such places. This is also useful, but it is better to dig coins and various useful small objects in the trash, such as jewelry and rings. Such places are still full of finds because most diggers try to avoid them, but that’s not always the best thing to do! Yes, there is nothing to do at such places with a large coil – you will only hook large signals, because the metal detector will respond better to large objects made from non-ferrous metal, and cut off small objects so that you only will accumulate various horseshoes and large objects. Naturally, the sniper coil is needed for detecting in littered places. This game is a retro-inspired 2D action RPG that looks like it came out of the SNES. Streets of Rage is an authentic, old-school beat ’em up with modern graphics. It’s not just a beautiful game, and it’s not just an homage to old school beat ’em ups. In Streets of Rage 4, you get to play many beloved characters of the franchise in an extremely well-made beat ’em up game that has beautifully hand-drawn graphics and very well-designed gameplay. I’ve always loved the design choices, soundtrack, and advancements this franchise brought to the beat ’em up genre. Therefore, Streets of Rage 4 is automatically one of the best Mac games on Steam. Streets of Rage is by far one of my favorite franchises. Also, following Dark Souls’ footsteps, the bosses are a visual spectacle on top of being mechanically tricky and fun to fight. There is a fair amount of personalization, secrets to be discovered, and a great variety of challenging enemies with their own behavior and attack patterns. Generally speaking, the game often feels like a Metroidvania, but its methodical approach to combat is heavily inspired in Dark Souls. The world is not linear, so there’s a lot of exploration to be done. You must explore the weird world of Cvstodia, upgrade your skills, learn enemy patterns, and succeed in your peregrination. In this game, you play as the penitent one.
